Logistics Specialist
Kennedy Space Center, FL
Job Description:Under general supervision, responsible for a broad range of activities relating to all aspects of Logistics, to include, but not limit: planning, research and analysis, receiving, storing, procurement, issuing, ordering, inventory, transfer and delivery of government and company owned furniture, materials and equipment. Interface, process, and expedite supply actions between departments/sections and other companies or government agencies.

Qualifications: Three to five years experience. Understand oral and written instructions and ability to communicate necessary information to customers, co-workers, and management. Ability to maintain all operational and medical certifications, licenses, and permits required to perform tasks, such as operation of forklifts, annual physicals, and State driver’s license. May be required to obtain a higher level State CDL license with endorsements, dependent on area of logistics operations being performed.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Perform appointed duties and work assigned in the Logistics Specialist classification.
  • Maintain training, certifications, licenses, permits, etc. required for performance of assigned tasks.
  • Prepare necessary documentation, charts, files, reports, etc.
  • Operate computer equipment to obtain and/or input data.
  • Maintain and audit records for discrepancies and adjust and post errors, as necessary.
  • Operate vehicles/material handling equipment to facilitate the safe loading, unloading and transportation of materials and equipment.
  • Plan, document, schedule and perform inventory and excess of materials and equipment, as assigned.
  • Provide real time support, coordination, analysis, and transfer of items to other contractors, material status, etc.
  • Research and coordinate catalogs, drawings, stock indexes and internal records for requested items.
  • Enter data into computer data base or maintenance program, such as MAXIMO or similar program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned following Federal, State, local, government, and established NASA laws and regulations.
  • Attend training to maintain certifications, licenses, area permits, and security clearances required to work on KSC.
  • All work performed in accordance with local energy management conservation regulations, collective bargaining agreements, security, safety, hurricane and other specialized program requirements relating to the business of the Logistics Division.

  • Physical Requirements:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach, bend stoop, and climb in and out of vehicles. The employee may be also required to regularly lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.
